Joe to Play Two Afternoon Showcases at Huntington Folk Festival
July 15th, 2009
Hello again! My friends at AcousticMusicScene.com and also at AcousticLive will also have a major presence at the Fourth Annual Huntington Folk Festival that takes place on Saturday, August 1, at Heckscher Park in — you guessed it — Huntington, New York. Peter Rowan headlines the free festival that is presented by the Huntington Arts Council and the Folk Music Society of Huntington as part of the Huntington Summer Arts Festival. Rowan will be joined on the park’s Chapin Rainbow Stage by The Rowan Brothers (Chris and Lorin) for an 8:30 p.m. concert.
During the afternoon, from 3-6 p.m., both AcousticMusicScene.com and Acoustic Live! in New York City & Beyond will host unplugged showcases under small canopy tents featuring artists from the New York metropolitan area and beyond. An open jam/song swap also will take place nearby in the park.
Here’s the AcousticMusicScene.com Showcase schedule.
3:00 Hank Stone and Todd Evans
3:15 Denise Romas
3:30 David Bailey
3:45 Susan Kane
4:00 Kelly Flint/Glen Roethel
4:30 The YaYas
4:45 Princess Peapod
5:00 Barbara Garriel
5:10 Joe Iadanza./Jenee Halstead/Gathering Time
The AcousticLive showcases haven’t been formally announced yet, but I will be playing around 3:15pm. There are lots of great folks on this list, all of them are folk friends and touring buddies. It’s going to be a really fun afternoon.
Festival goers are advised to bring lawn chairs or blankets and to consider bringing a picnic supper or venturing into nearby Huntington Village for dinner.
