February ’09 Challenge Winners Announced!

Thank you everyone who took the time to step out and take a crack at my first Hel-jo-re-nu-fa Challenge! This is still a pilot idea, and I think I’m going to keep it flowing for a while.

This month’s first prize winner, Peter Hammarberg, emailed me to say that it wasn’t necessary to send him a prize. After all, he already had 2 of the three prizes offered this month.

I explained to him (and share it with you here) that my ability to succeed in this crazy business absolutely depends on you. I can do my part to write songs, book shows and deliver a big performance. But, I need you to help me spread the word. The prize is a “Thank You” for stepping up and doing a little extra. Enjoy it as much as I enjoy giving them!

You see, I can tell 1000 people that I have a cool band and some interesting songs. But unfortunately, that doesn’t really matter to most folks. Every musician is doing that. It’s like street noise out of your window. After a while, it goes unnoticed.

Now, if YOU tell 1000 people that “Joe Iadanza” has a cool band and some kick-ass songs, then (because of the rules of human psychology) people might actually listen. If I tell them – then I’m bragging. If you tell them, you have become a taste-maker.

I’m very grateful to all of you who took up the mantle and sent new friends to hear the music. Some of you brought friends to shows. Others commented on my website and still more became friends on Myspace and Facebook.

I look forward to growing this community! Music is life-changing stuff! If I can reach or inspire one-person a day, then I know I’m on my way to fulfilling my destiny.
