A New Beginning – Happy New Year!

It’s exciting to “start again” at the beginning of each new year. The potential for change seems so strong, so monumental. But is that moment when the clock strikes midnight any different from this one? Why correct a course but once a year? Can we not begin again every week, every day, and every moment?

And so in resolution, I reaffirm and recommit to this crazy journey; and to stay present with every breath and to every beat of this fragile heart. And when I forget who I am, and I feel lost (like I have many times these last few months), still I will begin again – until there are no more beginnings and no more endings.

And (as I just told my friend Tracey this morning), I will meet you there in that timeless place, and we will sit together and drink tea, and not check Facebook to see what our friends are doing… Because they’ll already be there with us.

Live in NYC this Tuesday, January 13th

I will be playing with My Beautiful Band this Tuesday, January 13th at Banjo Jim’s. We’ll be breaking out some new songs (and really kicking up some of your old favorites) so come on down and bring your friends. In a bad economy, you can’t beat a no-cover show at one of NYC’s best music-dives.
