Seven Up! Eclectic Cafe Recap
September 16th, 2008
Woo Hoo! What a night!!! For those of you who were there – and there were many – Thank you! You were part of my most memorable music night so far.
Our set time was 9:30pm. Carolin just flew back from Germany the day before. She hadn’t played with us since the recording sessions back in April/May. We walked through the tunes at my place before the show, and then headed out there for what we thought would be a nice outing as a four-piece…
But, fifteen minutes before set time, “Gathering Time” showed up and said they were up to singing along. So…. I charged them to the green room and we fast-forwarded through the set to go over their parts. At 9:30, we took the stage… All seven of us. It was a blast! This was the first time we have all played together. As I said at the show (and I’ll say it again here), “We need a bigger bus!”
We played the whole record, plus one new song. There was clappin’ and foot stompin’, and lots of delicious sweets – everything you need for a great night out. Karen from the Eclectic cafe dropped me a note after the fact:
“Thanks – to you and the band. It was a special night of music and a wonderful start to the Eclectic’s season. You and the band have an intersting, engaging and unique sound and a lot of chemistry on the stage. We’re delighted to have been the first stop on what I anticipate will be a very sucessful career.”
No Karen… Thank you! (and Jack too). It was I night I’ll never forget.
Thanks for Listening!
