New Show This Sunday and Other Non-CD Happenings

June 25th, 2008

Just a quick note to let you know that I’ll be doing a short performance this Sunday night at The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bellport (UUFB) as part of the The Bellport Songwriter Series.

The series is run by volunteers as a fund raiser for the congregation and a showcase for Long Island songwriters who will perform their original songs in an acoustic setting. It was begun by the great Christopher Capobianco, who served at UUFB Congregation President from 2001-2007 and who also volunteers at the Patchogue Theatre For the Performing Arts as a member of the Board of Directors and the coordinator for the successful Live In The Lobby concert series that features original music from Long Island.

The first Concert in the series is Sunday June 29 at 7pm, featuring performances by Mike Bonti, Katie Pearlman, Chris P. Cauley, Jay Scott, (me) Joe Iadanza, The Casuist and The Sun Gets Down. Check out the tour page for details.

ALSO!

I’m happy to announce that the Positive Music Association (PMA) - an organization of which I am a member - has partnered with Harmonizing with Humanity (HwH) which is organizing house concerts for positive music artists across North America.

I’ve just set up my profile page with them here - so have fun, check it out, and send some good ratings over if you get a chance! This is a great opportunity to spread the music to other peaceful folks and I look forward to watching the community grow.

Lastly…

I continue to host the ever growing and ever successful open stage at the Canvas Magazine Gallery (every 2nd thursday). Last month’s turnout was the strongest yet. We actually had more poets than musicians for the first time ever! I think I might even come with poetry instead of a guitar next time! Next month let’s continue the fun - so come on down with your creations, and also join me in enjoying our July featured performer Rorie Kelly.

See you soon and thanks for listening!

PS:

The photo above is by the very generous and talented Alex Wolf. Alex has been photographing artists at the Canvas Open Mic (and all over Long Island) and we’re very grateful. Check him out at http://www.alexmwolffphotography.com
