May Recording Update – Presale Ends this Friday!

Wow! Where am I? Hold on… Let me take a minute to just breathe here and gather my thoughts. April started with a “Bang!” We really nailed down the rhythm tracking and started things off just right. But, then the studio had some equipment issues and things hit a wall for a few weeks. I was starting to feel a little anxious about the whole thing, but I’m happy to say that May is a very different story!

As of today, all of the guitar tracking is done. My wife and daughter came in last weekend to put some fun oboe and piano touches on a song too (see pix).

Tonight I’ll be in the studio with “Gathering Time” recording all of the backup vocals (along with lots of “oohs” and “aahs”) to add yet another level of coolness to the sound.

On Friday, Carolin will put her violin touch on the pieces, and Saturday David Mowry of “Beaucoup Blue” will add the final tracks of slide guitar. All that will be left are my final vocals, and then we’re ready to mix!

It is truly amazing to see the transformation of these tunes from stripped down solo pieces, to fully produced folk/rock tracks.

Later this week, I’ll be posting images and some reflections from my photo shoot with Jana Sanford. It was a fun afternoon and she’s really great to work with. I’m already in the middle of designing the album cover and I will promise to show you all the design next week.

So… On to business! Short and Sweet…
